Halau Hula Pa'akea Wai Lehua presents " Ho'i Ke Aloha I Mokauea " on November 29, 2014 at the Mamiya Theater in Honolulu. This hula drama will share the history of Mokauea Island and tell the story of an ancient fishing village at the height of its existence. It will showcase the values and beliefs taught on Mokauea and the people’s relationship to the land and the sea.
Mokauea is the last remaining fishing community in Ke’ehi and is now an area of important historic concern. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to support current efforts to environmentally and culturally restore Mokauea Island.
